Hi
Actually there is, though it is a hidden preference that you have to
explicitly set. Open the terminal window and do this:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles true
Now command-tab back to finder and hold down command+option+shift
+escape for a few seconds to cause finder to restart. All hidden files
and folders will now be shown to you, and I do mean all of them,
including folders that have a hidden flag set like /usr and /bin.
If you wish to turn this off, give the defaults line in terminal, but
replace true with false. Then restart finder.
An alternate way to set this preference is to install a system
tweaking tool such as Cocktail, which exposes a lot of hidden system
settings.

Hi all,
Any one know how I show files and folders that have a dot before
the name?
Thanks for any info.
