Hi tiffany, how are you doing?
If you are wanting to remove all associated stuff from a application,
do the following.
First, delete the application from your Appplications folder. You can
get to it quickly by hitting Command+Shift+A, if you are in the finder
window. Anyhow, delete that. Then, in that same window, hold down
Command and hit the Up Arrow, that will take you to the previous
folder within that directory. Go into library, and look for anything
associated with your printer there. In the library folder, you will
want to look for a folder that is related to the printer you
installed, and then you are going to want to delete that. Afterwards,
in that same library folder, look through the Cache folder, the
Receipts folder, and Preferences, and PreferencePaines folder. You In
these folders, you will want to look for what is associated with your
printer. It might say .hp pritner, or something to that affect, or
just have a printer name, or printer number.
If you want to further delete stuff associated with your printer, open
your Macintosh HD icon on your finder window, look for Users, then the
user name you used for your computer, and hit Library there. In this
folder, you will go through the same areas, Cache, Preferences, and
Preference Paines. Also look for a folder that is related to your
printer, or printer company as well within the library main folder.
I know it sounds like a lot, but if you are wanting to delete it like
this in a manual way, this is what you can do.
There are programs that do deletion of programs for you. I don't know
of what they are actually called. But, I hear they do a good job of
deleting everything from system files, to the application associated
with waht you want to uninstall. If you don't want to go through all
what I have mentioned, I could try and find a application for you.
Also, I know there is a way to do it in terminal, if your comfortable
with that. I don't know the command for it, but I can certainly try
and hunt it down if you would like.
sorry to dump all this on you.
I hope this helps.

Ok, so I should delete this new installation? How do I find the prefs
pain? Good idea about choosing a printer.

Hi Tiff,
The only thing I can offer is to have you make sure everything is
uninstalled and the trash emptied, hunt down the prefs paynes too
if you
have to. Then, when you go to install, don't use the disk. just
ad a
printer and see if you can find a match in the list.

Subject: Printer Issues (slitly ot)
I have two printers that are Mac compatible. The first is an HP
Photosmart C4200 and the second is an Hp Deskjet 5650. I tried
installing the photosmart and using it. The installation wasn't 100%
accessible with VoiceOver but I got through it. It said something
about the trap monitor program not being installed. Then, in the
setup assistant, it wouldn't let me choose a device. I got sighted
assistance and was told that no items were showing up in the
table. I
couldn't hit next so I quit it. I tried to print something out and
it
just said something like error in printing. It didn't tell me why or
give me a number. I tried to use the uninstall program and it was
completely unresponsive. So I just manually deleted everything and
did a reinstall. This time, it said everything was successfully
installed but when I went to print, I had the same problem and the
same one with the setup assistant. I really need to print a few
things for my job and short of putting them on the pc and doing it,
I'm out of options. I didn't even try the scanner part of this
all-in-one device yet. I also haven't tried the Hp Deskjet 5650
but I
heard it works with Leopard. I want to make sure of this before I
have my mother set it up. (Not readily available due to house
renovation.) Can anyone help me please?
Thanks,
Tiffanitsa
