How do I interact with something that isn't there? That's my point,
the list, according to VO, is not there. Period. Even when I tab to
where VO says downloads image, according to VO there's nothing there,
the cursor cannot even be routed to that point and the closest it gets
is the songs table, which is empty.

Just tested again, and still cannot see any of the items in the
download list itself. The buttons are visible, the list is not, this
was the case for me in iTunes 8 as well as 8.0.1 which I'm running
now. I can tab to the main content area, but all it says is "downloads
image." I don't see any more than that.

Not really, it doesn't work the way it should. You can get into the
window and see the pause all and resume all buttons, but the actual
main content area is invisible to Voiceover. You should definitely
write back and tell them this doesn't work as expected.

Yes, a VO user can get to the dowloads area while downloads are in
progress. Just select Downloads in the Sources table, then
navigate to the main content area of the iTunes store. The
downloads area isn't a separate window, it's more like viewing the
contents of a playlist or other source in the iTunes window.

downloaded only appear in the downloads window while they are
still in progress. When they're done, they appear in the
"destination" in your iTunes library. The destination is
determined by the person that created the podcast so different
podcasts will land in different locations. You can use the
