Hi Alex,
In response to your question, I've never tried the tables on the Mac and am still fairly new to the Mac therefore am still learning about VoiceOver etc, VoiceOver is likely to be more advanced than Jaws, however only having used it for a few months, I don't feel it is at the moment. I am however enjoying using it very much and am learning new things all the time!!!
Best wishes,
Vicki.

I used to be in the same situation as you; I really wanted to try a
mac but I really objected to paying the high price for a used mac
mini.
Then, I found the emac (not imac) that sold much cheaper.
I got my g4 1.42ghz, 512mbram and a 80 gb drive for £70 including shipping.
The emac is basicly the eduicational version of the imac which was
designed for schools. The above spec is the highist that the imacs
whent to, but it now runs leopard fine and so long as you don't get
apple ram, you can do what I did and up the ram to 2gb for around £25.

Hi,

What don't you find as advanced as JAWS. I use Everything, and I find
it exells further than Jaws ever did.

It is all in how you use it. If you discover the hidden secrets, it is
way better than JAWS. Remember, unlike Windows, Mac OS X is learned
mainly through exploration, and I am constantly finding comonly
undocumented commands.

Thanks for listening,
Alex,

Hi Dean,
I have a Mac Mini and think it's the greatest computer I've ever
brought.
I will say though that it is very different to windows and VoiceOver
is good though obviously not as advanced as Jaws for example.
I hope you manage to find a Mac Mini second hand,
please don't hesitate to get in touch should you need more help.
Best wishes,
Vicki.

I was thinking of a mini because of its small size. A second hand
one will do to see how I take to the Mac and it doesn't need to run
éWindows as my Windows machine still has life left in it yet. It
could sit nicely on top of it in fact!

doesn't the mac have an ethernet port?
an IMac is probably best dean anyways as it is all in one but not
sure
about the modem situation as I use wireless

Hi,
I'm looking on Ebay for a second hand Mac Mini, just got to find
the
right spec at the right price! I'm struggling to find drivers for my Conexant AccessRunner ADSL USB modem, there seem to be Linux and
Windows ones but I'm not sure. To check though, any USB keyboard
will work won't it? Also, a long shot but if anyone in the UK is
looking to sell their Mini then it'd be good to hear.
