You may need to left arrow or VO-left arrow after holding down the VO-keys and pressing m twice to find the items for clock and battery. If the information on battery lifetime isn't in the format you want, arrow down and press "s" to navigate to the "Show" submenu, arrow right, then arrow down to select "Time" (for time remaining) or "Percent" (for percentage of full charge).

You can also set up a shortcut to speak the time by using an application called Spark and an AppleScript. Both Greg Kearney and Travis Siegel posted to this list with AppleScripts to do this. Here's Travis' post from the archives, (since he includes a link to Spark at his linked web site along with his saytime script):

P.S. You can also add a slight delay to the AppleScript by inserting a line like"
"delay 0.5"
without the quotation marks just before the "say" command, to let VoiceOver finish speaking, since it's speech has priority over actions like the "say" command.

Cheers,

Esther

Subject: getting remaining battery power and telling time of day

I have forgotten how to tell how much battery power is remaining.
there was a suggestion with a good shortcut here about a year ago.
also I would like to know how to tell the time of day with voice over.
