I never have these spellcheck problems in TextEdit, Nisus or Bean. In
fact, I'm not sure that I have always had this problem in mail. I just
noticed this recently.

first I hit Command Shift Semicolon. Then I hit VO F2 twice and
down to spellcheck window and hit inter.
