Hi,

What determines which of the Acapela Group's voices are available for the Mac from Infovox/iVox? For example, they have a Greek voice, but only their Turkish voice (along with Czech, Polish, and Icelandic) got added to the Mac offerings this Spring. And they have Russian, which is one of the localizations for the Mac in Leopard, but that's also not available from Infovox/iVox.

I posted links to Japanese and Chinese text-to-speech products for the Mac a couple of months ago. Did these not work, Will? (The Chinese package was a beta release.) And if you've contacted Assistiveware, do you know what new voices they'll be releasing?

Cheers,

Esther

Personally, I think Alex is the best synthesized voice I've ever
heard, but he only knows English. Which company is supposed to put
out that Greek synth this month? Is it acapella or another one and
does anyone know if it's out yet?

I find the acapella voices on the mac to be ideal, they are fast, stable and
comfortable to listen to.
