Umm, the date/time customizing in International>format was confusing
to say the least, probably because i haven't been there and dealt with
it before. Looks like you'll have to drag things around... Not certain
how to deal with this dialog. I went in and did something, mostly
poking around with VO, which btw behaved like a rubber band in this
dialog... Dunno if i actually managed to change anything. Anyone has
tips for this thing?:-)

I believe if you go into Apple > System Preferences > Date and Time
> Open
International > Format > Customize > [and now I am not quite sure,
but I
think I had to choose British settings] you should be able to switch
from
AM/PM to 24 hour format. Been awhile but I had to do that to my iMac
G4 when
it suffered from an on-property lightning strike, killing my cable
modem
[replaced it] and resetting my PRAM after my time and date kept
reverting to
05 January 1969 and I could not start my computer. You won't have to
go
through the resetting your PRAM if you have no trouble shutting down
and
turning on your Macs.
Good luck, Krister!
