Consider yourself lucky then. Not arguing or saying I doubt you. I believe you all the way, but, I've tried this on two different macs and had the issue. I finally just resorted to restoring the God **** thing and making a text file ahead a time using text edit and just manually scrolled through all the artists so I'd remember what all I put on it. Now I'm just going back restoring it. When I did that, it did fix it where now I can expand the thing, but I can't collapse it now. Not that I really wanna do that, but I would! like to figure out why expanding and collapsing won't work. After interacting with the item you wanna expand, it's vo back slash isn't it?

All that does is just dings at me.

Granted, I've not quite yet put his IPod back into Manual mode, as I wanna sync this playlist down first. If doing that makes my! IPod screw up, I really don't care, being I don't have really anything currently on it worth much. I mean, I know what's on mine, and could get mine back after a restore pretty quickly. So, in my case, restoring really wouldn't be a huge cost. I only got maybe 30 or so CD's on it. See, with my dad's like I say, he's got literally at least right over 1600 tracks that should be on his. So his is not quite, but all? most! full.

Yeah, David, I dono. This is really bazaar. O, don't think I am doubting you, dude. I fully? completely agree and trust you about it not doing this stuff for you. I just wish I could figure out what in the tarnation is causing all this crud over here. I'm almost at the point of just making with this one user account, multiple libraries for each of us. Jesus! Would that probably a been the better way to go! Why didn't I think a that earlier. Man, I do turn 27 tomorrow, but Holy dynomite! I didn't think 27 was that much of an old fart that I'd start losing my mind! Heheheheh! R O F L!

Chris.

See if any of yall can regenerate this.

My dad's IPod is set to manually sync. When I updated to the latest
firmware 1.0.3 for him today, boy did it bird out! First my spoken menus
went away, as I mentioned earlier. Unchecking, applying, rechecking and
reapplying did seem to fix that issue. The weird thing is on the summary
tab under Steve's Nano, in the options section, on the summary tab, use disc
mode is checked, however, it's dimmed. I can't uncheck it. Also, on the
music tab, sync music's unchecked, and if I check it, it tells me to sync,
it needs to wipe the IPod contents. There's over 1200 tracks on the IPod,
and I don't even recall all which ones. The So there's the background
configuration for ya. BTW, Leopard 10.5.5 running Itunes 8.1.2.

OK, now when I am in the sources list, if I interact with the source list
outline, then vo down arrow under devices, to Steve's Nano, it says
collapsed. OK, if I then interact with the outline, and then do vo
backslash to expand the IPod, it won't. It just dings. I thought that was really weird. My IPod's in automatic sync mode, still's the 8gb 4 gen Nano. Mine won't expand either. only differenfce in his from mine is his is Blue,
and mine's Yellow, but that really shouldn't matter. LOL! Yeah, it just
won't expand regardless what I do. So, I'm kind a catch 22 at this point.
I dono what the deal is. Yeah, both of our Nano's are now on 1.0.3
firmware. Back in 1.0.2, they worked fine, as faras expanding, but then, I
should mention I've never synced either ipods since I upgraded to ITunes
8.1.2. Back in 8.1.1, is the last time I did.

I gotta product specialist now on the line. She has me on hold as I type
this, but she's gonna update the fw on an ipod there and try to regenerate
this issue. If she can, then we might have to file this as a bug. Anyway, I wonder if yall may know the issue. I know again under the music tab, sync
music is unchecked, but I can't check it or it tells me to first wipe the
thing, so ni madres to that.

As for the only other thing, I think I already mentioned this, but, it says disc mode is enabled, but I can't uncheck it. It's dimmed. I really don't
wanna restore this, as then the music would all go kuh plooey. I don't
remember ever little thing on there so I couldn't put it back. Least not
easily, put it that way. Also, I'm screwed cause if I can't expand the
Steve's IPod device in the source list, then how am I gonna delete things
off of it? I can't. I can drag and rop onto it, and that works fine to get
things on it, but getting 'em off or monipulating 'em is the issue.

Chris.
