Hi Krister,

Entries for CD names in the CDDB aren't always complete. These are submitted by individual users who add tags to CDs that they purchase, so information is likely to be complete and accurate for CDs that are popular and widely distributed, and less likely to be complete for CDs from labels with smaller distribution lists or which have just recently appeared. Entries are often missing for new audiobooks on CD, for example. The original concept of the CD Database (now known as Gracenote), predates iTunes by quite a bit. It was a way for people to share their collective information on music tagging. Apple decided to have all CDs inserted in iTunes connect the CDDB. For old music entries, iTunes users would find a complete set of tag entries. And there would be a constant supply of users who would input tags for new music.

Hope this helps to explain things.

Cheers,

Esther

Hi there.
I have tried getting cd names for tracks that are untitled, but i only get a dialog saying that the info couldn't be found in CDDB. I sorta wonder if:
1. Itunes is really looking in the cddb on the internet and
2: if Max can be used to get info for tracks in the itunes library that aren't named and if not if there are other possibilities for this?
