I'm on a laptop but when I'm at my desk for a while I use an external Apple USB keyboard. Wish they would just pick one set of FKeys and stick with it :)

Are you using a laptop? Actually now that I think of it, there is an option to modify the behavior of the keys in System Preferences. I had forgotten this, but that is what you get for migrating from machine to machine.

Seems that Apple has re-arranged things a bit. On my old USB Apple
keyboard on the top row I have esc, F1 through F16 and then volume down,
up, mute and CD eject. On the new wired aluminum keyboard it is esc, F1
through F12, CD eject, F13 through F19. I'm not sure if the F16 through
F18 keys still do the volume or what.

I just tried this and I get up to f16 with no problems. Now I haven't
got a set of eyes here, but I didn't know there was a f17 or 18. After
f12, there is the eject key and once you get to the row of keys above
the number pad, you have f16, but for the life of me I can't recall
what the other three keys are.

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that I was in a local Apple retailer
today and turned on Keyboard help to play with the new IMac
keyboards. I love them by the way. Well, I noticed that the "f17",
"f18", and "f19" keys are not spoken by Voiceover.

I just wanted to let you know this. Can this be fixed for 10.5.6?

Thanks for listening,
Alex,
