Hi Mike, you should be able to access the spell check window, by  
hitting command colon
, and you may have to use the window chooser to get access to that  
window in text edit.  I can do it in mail, without having to do this  
step,  why you  have to do it in Text edit, not sure.  In the case of  
mail, I just hit command colon, and that window comes right up.  On
