Well, you don't have to have ITunes open all the time.

You can use Firefly server to do this.

So let me get this straight, because I didn't find a good description of what Apple TV was. Is it like a receiver that you would hook up to a TV and transfer stuff from computer to it to play on your TV? Does it only work with hd tvs? Also, is there a s-video connection from Apple TV? Finally, is it true that Apple TV can't be accessed by us?
