Hi Scott,

Normally I would say you could pause your track with iTunes (press space bar), stop interacting with the songs outline, VO-up arrow, then VO-left arrow 3 times to the Player Status window and interact. This does give the time you're paused at, but in a peculiar quirk, VoiceOver is telling me "12:08 AM" instead of "00:08" (0 minutes and 8 seconds). If you want a more sensible answer that you can cut and paste, after you've paused the track, run the "RestartAt" AppleScript that allows you to start playback of any iTunes track at any time. By default, the window that comes up where you can type in the start time will be set to your current track time, so you can just copy the text entry. This window also tells you the start and stop time for the entire track, which is also useful information. Scott, I know that you've followed this information in the list before, so I won't give more details. Any other users interested in this AppleScript can get it from Tim Kilburn's VoiceOver Downloads web page along with full instructions on installation and use:

http://homepage.mac.com/kilburns/voiceover/downloads.html

(About the only thing Tim's instructions don't cover is how you can set up shortcut keys for any AppleScripts, and that's covered multiple time in the archives for this list. For example see this post:

and other related posts can be found by searching the Mail Archives site for this list.)

Cheers,

Esther

Hi again all.

can someone please advise is it possible in iTunes to pause a track and obtain the time where the song was actually paused?

The reason i'm asking is because a song I have purchased has a scrambled piece in it and it skips and I want to report this to the iTunes store support people and they are requesting the time code in the track where the problem occurrs. When I read in the faq how to obtain the time code, it says you have to click on a triangle in the main iTunes window and a progress bar is visible with moving numbers. Can these moving numbers be found using voice over and the time where the error occurrs be obtained?

Thanks.
