Hi,
You need to look at the console to find the exact error. I'm
speculating the CLASSPATH is not set properly. Are you launching
from terminal, or double clicking on a app? If not terminal, you can
try to launch from terminal to see more info.
From terminal type this and send it along with your reply:
java -version
That's java with dash/minus sign followed with no spaces version.

Hi listers,
I am having a problem running java apps in leopard. Even though I
downloaded the latest java updates, I get the following message when
I click on a .jar file.
the java jar file could not be launched. Check the council for errors.
What is going on here? Have any of you experienced this, and if so,
what can I do about it? Google doesn't seem to be helpful with
regard to this cryptic error message.
