The problem these days is that a processer shouldn't / can't be
measured purely on clock speed. Your by no means the only person that
does this what so ever - the amount of times i've built systems for
people who think that a sempron 3000+ (1.8ghz) will run faster than a
single core intel running at 1.6 for example is amazing.

There are probably differences in the processer such as the amount of
cache that it has.
