Hi Scott
No, I didn't have to do anything out of the ordinary to pair it with
any of the G4's I used. The Mac saw the keyboard, I entered the
pairing code, and it worked great from that point.
I don't know whether this would effect the issue or not, but I did
upgrade my keyboard's firmware as soon as I got it. Have you done
this? I don't see how or why it would affect pairing of one Mac and
not another, but it's possible that there was an obscure bug in the
firmware that is causing it with a specific Bluetooth chipset or
version. All the G4's I used had Bluetooth 2.0 and, while I can't
imagine the keyboard needing that, it is very possible it does, so
this is worth looking into as well. It's worth checking if your G4
machine has Bluetooth 2.0, or whether it's limited to the older, 1.2
specification. Apple isn't famous for backwards compatibility, after
all, and they might be using some 2.0-specific features. Again, this
is just something to check, I've not heard that the keyboard requires
2.0 nor that the firmware update will fix your issue.
Also, is your G4's bluetooth working with other devices? Might the
bluetooth in your G4 be malfunctioning? just one more thing to check,
might as well rule out any possible problem there.

Did you have any challenges getting it to be seen or paired with the
G4? I would think that if there was a limitation as to the machines
it would work with, it would be in the specs and we don't recall
reading such a thing. I'm sure it would be on the box in any event
or there would be a number of keyboards being returned. :)
