hello jessica,
I am also somewhat new to the apple way. I got my i mac about eight
months ago and a new mac book about a month ago. I cannot tell you how
greatfull I am for a computer opperating system that is not based on
the windows platform. I lost my sight a few years back and tried all
sorts of windows based screenreaders and landed with voice over. it is
great. Thanks to the list also for when I get stuck. let me know if I
can help with anything. drop me an e mail at [email protected]
good luck with the new machine and welcome

Okay all.
Figured out how to use skype, mail, safari, itunes basically anyway.
And how to browse around the mac itself pretty easily. I even
changed the default voice.
I guess pretty good work for 8 hours LOL.
Still have a lot to learn. And Mike no I won't rush it LOL. I find
rushing only makes things hugely worse than they need to be.
I rush too often. I can read and send email. Browse the web. Use
skype. For now that is all I need to know. The rest can be built on
that as time goes on.
Also was putting this little beast to my tests to make sure its
hardware was fine. And all seems to be just fine.
Even got my wireless connection set up. And for me who knows nothing
about wireless networkjing and not much more about wired networking
that is a huge accomplishment. Although it was easy to set up. I can
go anywhere in the house with this machine and from what I can tell
it will work from anywhere in my trailer here.
I mean have access to the internet sorry.
Have a great day all.
Jessica
