Good evening,
For anyone interested in using a bluetooth headset with their Mac, I
have researched and found a work around.
Issue
OS X Leopard has poor support for most bluetooth headsets. Many makes
and models lose connection after a few seconds and many that do keep a
connection only record static from the micropone.
Resolution
Use an OS X compatible Bluetooth to USB Audio adapter. Note: this is
not a USB Bluetooth adapter (an item that plugs into your USB port to
provide bluetooth for the Mac), but is a Bluetooth to USB Audio
adapter (which is recognized by the OS as a USB audio device).
I am using a Plantronics Discovery 925 and have chosen to go with the
Plantronics USB audio to bluetooth adapter (part number BUA-100). I
imagine that this adapter would work with non-plantronics headsets,
but can not test this to be sure.
