Simon, my roomie also has a Windows 'puter, so he just opens any content I send along. I only needed to authorize his machine once and he, mine.

There is a menu option to authorize which simply brings up a dialogue where you can type in your Apple ID and password.

We actually use eachother's set ups from time to time to listen, depending on where we are in the apartment, <smile> So it really is about each of us wanting to have access to our respective content at different times of the day! lol!

Anyway, hope this helps and chat with ya soon!…

Smiles,

Cara :)

How do you authorize with a friend so that you can exchange content? Thanks for your help. I want to exchange with my partner who has a different computer - windows - and what yo you are saying makes me think that I could exchange my content with him?

Thanks for your help.

With best wishes

Simon

SCott, this should be no prob at all. My roommate and I have both our ITunes authorized to play eachother's content, and we send content back / forth all the time via thumb drives, network, email, etc.

Folks, my kid wants to purchase a movie or possibly some TV shows. Of course at 11 years old he doesn't have an iTunes account nor will I provide credit card info for him. :) So if I purchase the content for him, I know I can play it on up to five machines. I'm assuming I could back the content up to a DVD and load it on his machine and authorize it? Has anyone done this and have any thoughts? I don't want to purchase anything until I know there won't be any problems moving it.

tnx,
