no, there are two ways to run fusion when bootcamp is functioning, you
can use the bootcamp partition as your windows vm or you can create
another vm for windows.

I didn't think one could run Fusion and BootCamp simultaneously

Well, Listers, if I ever thought running fusion was going to be
plain sailing, I should eat my words.
So, I now have Fusion installed and I try to run my Windows
choosing bootcamp partition. I go to vmware menu and choos "power
on". Windows starts booting and I hear my Jaws 7.1 introducing
itself. Then nothing. I command tab and all I hear is either fusion
or finder. I don't know where my windows is In vmware menu it seems
that it should be running because "shut" option is available and
indeed when I choose it, I can hear a lot of familiar noise in the
machine so windows is shutting down. Why can't I get to it? Or is
that Jaws crashes or doesn't speak? Is this because I run version
7.1?
Secondly, when I try to run bootcamp partition in Fusion, I get a
message to install vmware tools but only after windows has booted.
I choose install vmware tools. But I wait and wait and nothing
happens apart from the fact that there is now a "cancel" button in
vmware menu where "install vmware tools" was. But nothing happens.
Do I need to wait longer than two mintues? Would the tools have
been a part of my Fusion .dmg? Or is fusion trying to get the tools
from the internet?
I feel I'm nearly there, but not quite. Any observations would be
very helpful.
With best wishes
