Hello Everyone,
I installed vista using vista and installed xp under fusion. I also installed vm tools on both with no problems. I started out using jaws 9 now I am using 10. I do not seem to get the dvd working under vista, otherwise everything is working as expected.

thanks, Mike. First of all, I had a chance to listen to your podcast on running Windows under Fusion and found it very helpful. I did indeed switch the key mapping off in Fusion. Unfortunatley, I had already installed vmware tools before I had listened to your podcast and Soren - who had done the same thing - tells me that although he had uninstalled the tools, he still has problems with video intercept in Jaws. I do seem to remember that whie installing vmware tools, I had a warning message that some kind of VGA driver failed to isntall. So maybe that's why.

The strange thing is that I have lost the use of windows key in the virtual machine scroll area. you seemed to be doing things so swimmingly there even though your scroll area wasn't in full screen mode. I don't know why I can't seem to use the windows key so that, for instance, windows+m doesn't seem to take me to the desktop nor can I open the start menu in the usual way.

I have downloaded a demo version of Windows eyes and maybe I will try with that.

Video intercept in Jaws has always been trouble and I find that Hal has a similar problem.

I installed part of vmware tools, only the device drivers, that's all you really need unless you want to share folders between windows and the mac which I don't. Can't speak for Jaws since I don't use it, but window eyes and system access both work great, the window eyes video driver installed without problems. I did go in to the preferences, and turn off all of fusion's key mapping, I don't want it changing my keys.

Hello, I seem to be making progress with Fusion and jaws but there are a few things happening:

1. I have to keep reactivating windows when I power on and when I go to windows by choosing bootcamp partition at start up. Why is this happening?

2. I have now lost the windows start key right next to the spacebar on the left when I boot up straight into windows choosing my bootcamp partition. Any ideas how I mightt regain it? Having lost the windows key, I can't go to the desktop using Jaws combination windows+m nor can I open the start up menu, so I had to shut down windows brutally.

3. When under fusion I powered on bootcamp partition with windows, Jaws was attempting to install video intercept and failed to do so.

On the positive side, I have installed vmware tools. Just a thought but might this installation have interfered with my windows key?

Your help would be appreciated as always. I'm trying not to lose my nerve here. Smile!

With best wishes

Simon
