I think that under all circumstances the user should be made
aware of the fact that a very large program is loaded into
memory. We are talking about dozens of Megabytes.
While this might not be that important if you've got 1GB of
RAM, people with less memory might just notice their computers
slowing down if they open a large program unrelated to OOo,
and never find out why.

I agree though, that the menu is useful and I think it should be
readded. But the icon by itself is important too.
