I discovered that using the page preview from the file menu lets you view any 
number of pages at once. It's only the zoom feature of the regualr document

Sorry that you didn't get it. I'll send it again in a second.

Basically, you do file > print preview to view two pages at once, 
and then click on the page that you are editing.

Or, option two, you do window > new window, and turn on the record 
changes on both docs, and then merge the docs after calling them 
"letter to Jon 01" "and letter to Jon 02" .
