Some of the software will actually convert PDF files. However, some of the software will take graphics besides the text through OCR.
OOo has to be careful that it does not grow like a misshappened cabbage just because someone said why not. To make what beta 2 is suppose to be, took a lot of work and will take more to document and tweak. Then the next thing is to market it. Yes, have more people use it. I have wondered why MS developed many word processors? Maybe it was because the big one was too complicated for the average Joe and Jane to understand. I know that is where I am. I have not been able to understand or use more than 15% of WordPerfect!
