This seems to be another article like
http://www.computerworld.com.au/index.php/id;1530132226;fp;16;fpid;0

Not officially - but the feedback on the beta quality builds (beginning with 1.9.79) seems to tell us that there is work to do before we are ready for a final release. This not only holds true for the code base but for other areas too.
Let's gather the facts about the status on our releases list.

I don't think that a delay of 2-3 month is something we have to worry about. While we would like to stick with a schedule set some time ago we could benefit from some more time and efforts to ready the product and the project for the release.
Work on the quality of the product as well as on ports, localizations, documentation, marketing material, ... is ongoing.
I'm confident that - with proper preparation - OpenOffice.org 2.0 could be a success.

It's hard to state exact numbers of active developers. Who would count as active or as developer?
The number of developers from Sun Microsystem working on the code has not changed. And the rough number mentioned in Computerworld is by far too low. I would guess there is a ratio of 10:1 between the largest contributor and the second.
The number of people involved with the project OpenOffice.org is steadily increasing. Some people tend to move on after some time. But I neither think that the mentioned number is realistic nor would I say it's decreasing.
Surely we all would appreciate more developers regardless whether independent or company employed. And I think our project would appreciate more consequent "upstreaming" of work done outside the OpenOffice.org CVS repository.

Greetings
Stefan
