Exactly that's my point also. The OOo Add-On installer (that comprises
not only the GUI, but also the cmd line tool) OTOH *is* definitely
multi-user-proof, it *can* remove everything from any installation
without residues and I'm sure it can also handle any "etc" you left out
here. :-)

I don't know if it is system-update proof, because I don't know what
that means. If you could describe it maybe we can find out if this
applies to the OOo Add-On installer.

BTW: do you know the OOo Add-On installer at all and the way it works?

No, the Firefox extension installer also doesn't shine on Windows also.
