The people who work for the EDF part (@edf) or still belong to common
services (@edfgdf) are not. The people who work for the Gaz de France
entity proper may politely ignore the slip but don't like being reminded
they were the junior partner in this long association (at least this was
what someone painstakingly explained to me when I did this social gaffe
myself). All the more so since they've been careful to put Gaz de France
in all their official documents for some time and change their corporate
logo to be different than the EDF one but most people still routinely
call them GDF.

It'd be stupid to leave a bad impression because of this small thing
wouldn't it?

Regards,
