Heh! I was thinking just a few days ago "gee, it's quite a lot that
the OOO-light theme doesn't return on [EMAIL PROTECTED]: what will have
happened?"

Woah! Now that's a statement! Great!

Doesn't KOffice fits just exactly this definition? With the advantage
that it is here already, and must not be written from scratch?

I've been saying that basic software like an Office suite should be as
light as possible (ie not tailored for state-of-the-art PCs) for
years. If OO.o becomes lighter than today is great and I couldn't care
less if it is because if it's made modular or any other strategy.

Honestly, I haven't had occasion to seriously try any 2.0 beta yet, so
as far as I know it may already be all I need to not complain anymore
on this.

But if any real developer wants to go for a whole new "alternative" as
described by Sam, please consider joining KOffice, porting it to other
platform, etc... not reinventing that same species of wheel.

Any feedback is appreciated, I'm really interested in this.

Ciao,
