ewwww.... Microsoft even called the document type the Microsoft
"Office Open" XML format.
I expect they parse it as: "Microsoft Office" "Open XML format".
It looks like yet another strategy to confuse people into getting the
right "open office" thing from "MS Office" and put the incompatibility
blame on the others :)
But, well, I suppose writing OOo file parsers for something that is
based on XML will always be easier (???) than from some kind of binary
something format.
But, if they mean by XML the horrible thing that is WordML I am not
sure it is going to be any fun !!!
(For info on WordML, there are plenty of docs, sample chapters etc on
the OReilly site).
