For some reason, in the beta version, the 'fly out' selections are
no longer available in the drawing tool icons.
They are, e.g. for lines & arrows, or polygons. Text, ellipse and
rectangle has been reorganized a bit, and some infrequently used stuff
might no longer be accessible via toolbars - e.g. the fit-to-frame
feature. But the functionality is still there, though you might have
to go via context menu to access it.
In general I am very enthousiastic about the changes! Sorry I did not
mention that in my fist post on this topic.
However the exact function mentioned by Ross, I cannot find. Probably
that's one of the things to access via a context-menu, as you mention.
The fact that MsOffice newcomers for a large part probably do not know
the excellent 1.1.x left-side tool-bar, does not mean that it isn't
very handy and powerful, and indeed a pleasure and success to explain
to my trainees.
Just grab any toolbar by its left-border dotted line, and move around
or dock it whereever you like - e.g. back at the old left-side position.
You're right, I did notice that earlier, however missed some details of
configuration. Could not find something as an autotext-toolbar, however
found now that the autotext-button is available in the tools-toolbar.
And indeed with Customize|Add|Category Edit there the button is!
OK, the 1.1.x toolbar might it not be very consistent with the
remaining Gui/toolbars? Why not offer the choise to have it or not?
You can configure toolbars to your likings, more than ever.
You're right. Apologies for my earlyer over-critisizm.
One slight difference: if I choose Special Character in 1.1.x, that
becomes the default. When I choose columns next, that one becomes
default. And so on.
Did not notice / find that in 2.0-beta yet ...
Thanks again & kind regards,
Cor
