If I understand you correctly, there is a way to restore a file.
Some types of file corruption can be fixed. Our format is carefully designed to be reliable and avoid corruption. But of course, there are limits.
I use version 1.9.79.
Uhhmmm... you do know that this is a beta version, right? 1.9.79 is a development snapshot. You shouldn't trust it with anything important unless you also make regular backups.
now both files are only 2 kB, and it seems there is no way to repair them.
Ouch. 2kb is bad. Most likely, the data is lost. You could send one of the files to me directly and I can try to fix it "by hand". But it is very very unlikely I can extract anything.
