Hello Christensen !

BTW: Opening a file from a special office application is not designed in the way, that the current application will be preselected as load target. Opening a file inside OOo means:

a)
detect the format of the file (in this case TXT)
b)
search the preferred application for this format (here writer)
c)
open the file

You can overwrite this by:
1)
using another extension (e.g. csv) to influence the format detection
2)
selecting a filter inside the file dialog ("Text CSV")
3)
or drag the file directly into an open calc document.

Regards
Andreas

Thanks, Cor.

I'll try that to see if it solves my problem.

Dave

Yes, I opened it from Calc, version 1.1.3, running on SuSE 9.2 Pro.

This was a post from a different user, see if it helps.

- Right-click on the tab-name of a sheet in a spreadsheet,
- Choose insert sheet;
- from file;
- browse
- etc etc....

Does that help?

Kind regards,
Cor
