Has anyone managed any success using the SVG import filter plug-in?
All I ever get when I try to use it is "General I/O error". I had
hoped to use it with Open Clip Art stuff.
Do you have Java 1.5, their site specifically recomend this.
Yes. I specifically made sure of that.
BTW, this is on 1.9.125, WinXP Home.
BTW, am I the only one who believes it ironic that the vanguard
application for open standards doesn't fully support the first, true,
official vector graphic standard?
You are free to contribute to erradicate this irony.
Since I can't code the point is moot. I would just think it would be
kind of embarrassing for those of you who are most deeply connected with
the project. I can utilize any one of about two dozen, mostly
proprietary, formats... but not SVG.
Look, I'm not really complaining so much as making an observation. It
doesn't really affect me that much, personally; I found a set of Cisco
icons for making network diagrams on their site. They had put them
inside a Powerpoint document and I found that converting the ppt to sxi
also resulted in the images being converted into svm format. Perfect!
But I do appreciate the very polite way you managed to convey the
open-source mantra of "Show me the code or shut the **** up." That was
classier than most. ;)
