Hi,
A few comments. Open Office is an impressive undertaking, however, I
am greatly disappointed in its ability to deal with other formats, (besides
Microsoft whatever). I have 20 years of WordPerfect and Quattro files.
I tried all sorts of ways to get Open Office to open them, but it appears
the only way is to first convert them to Word or Excel files. That is a
step that adds a huge overhead to adopting Open Office, (and one I can
not afford, even for "free" software).
Noticed that in Calc the trig functions only use radians for values. If
degrees are the input, the formula needs another function inside it to
convert. Quattro (and Excel, I think) have an option on the function to
use degrees directly. Would strongly recommend adding this option.
You may need to add extra bandwidth to your site.... response is so
slow as to be nearly unuseable.
Thanks for listening.
I understand your pain. OOo 2.0 beta has opened all the WordPerfect
files that I have tried with no problems outside those expected. I
have not tried a Quatro file in OOo 2.0 yet.
As for direct degree usage, put in a request for enhancement. You can
do that with OOo. Try that with the other guys.
