Robert Derman replies: It is not possible to download just writer,
because in its overall configuration OpenOffice.org is more like
Microsoft Works than like MS Office. In functionallity it is more like
Office, but like Works, it is not a collection of seperate application
programs, but rather a single engine with several application interfaces
and output formats. Much if not most of the code that Writer uses is
also used for Calc, Impress etc. Writer is such a powerful word
processor, that just the code it uses is about 2/3 or so of the total
OOo code. Nor is it likely that there ever will be an OOo Lite, after
all, for that we have AbiWord.
