Well, you are, to be honest, very very dogmatic. Regardless of the reason, you hardly ever recognize an opposing point of view. And the message you convey is that you can't see beyond the reality of today when people are making arguments based on trends of change. Given this, it shouldn't be surprising that you are not seen as the sharpest person around. A high IQ will not compensate for a dogmatic mentality. In the cases when you have a valid point to say, it generally gets lost in the delivery. I think that if you changed your delivery, and made an effort to understand people who disagree with you, you would find that your own opposing ideas would be received better.
