Ok, I found the issue 30568 page and read all the notes on the page and followed up on all the links listed. I see that the status of the issue is listed as closed/fixed. What is not clear however is what decision was actually taken. I can't see that the problem has been fixed at all !! The format cells dialog has a check box to use the windows regional decimal and thousands separator settings but it just doesn't do that and neither will it let me set Calc up in the correct manner by using user defined formats. where to now...back to OOo 1.1.4 !! ??
