Dear sirs.
First of all, let me say that OpenOfficeorg is a fine office suite, and
I like ith very much. Here are a few things that I would like to see
added to it in the future. I realize that some of these things may be
difficult to implement, and take considerable time and work, but I feel
that the effort would be well worth it to add these features. I am not
a programmer, or I would be offering to help with the task.
1-A feature similar to the Make-It-Fit feature in WordPerfect. An
example of how this feature works in WP: Say you have a document that
is 1 1/2 pages long, and you want it to fit on 1 page without the font
being too small to be easily read. You use the Make-It-Fit feature
which automaticall adjusts line spacing and possibly the font size to
make the document fit on 1 page. I know line spaceing can be adjusted
in OpenOfficeorg Writer, but to do this manually and get the desired
results is very time consuming.
2-The ability to open WordPerfect documents that include graphics
correctly.
3-The Base part of the program needs to be able to OPEN an MS Access
database correctly. Not link to it, nor import tables from it, but open
it correctly, including all forms, reports, querries etc...and then save
it in other formats with all functions and parts intact and working
properly.
4-A way to convert large numbers of files from MS Word, WordPerfect,
Lotus, MS Excell, MS Access etc... formats to OpenDocument, and other
OpenOfficeorg file formats automatically would be really cool!
