It has come to my attention that the folks at www.thinkall.com are using
the SUN microsystem product OpenOffice in a commercial way to either
generate revenues directly or, to promote the sales of other revenue
generating products. I checked the SUN microsystem-generated list of
authorized CD distributors for the OpenOffice product and, the company
ThinkAll was not included in that list.
If you visit the webpage -at the aforementioned website- which
specifically promotes OpenOffice, you will note that nowhere on the page
is any mention made of either SUN microsystems or, the open-source
project that is responsible for the coding of OpenOffice and, the
subsequent free downloads of this code from the OpenOffice website!
I just thought that this sort of thing should be well known to SUN
microsystems. I hope that SUN microsystems is benefitting from Think
All's use of the OpenOffice product as both a promotional and,
revenue-generating tool.

Hi Mike,
OpenOffice.org is a free software project and people and companies are
welcome to market them, they are not required (even thought encouraged) to
register to our directory of distributors. You could go on and read our
licence (LGPL) which gives you details on what you can do and can't do
with our product. Thanks for the lookout and you are welcome to learn more
and maybe even contribute to our community using our mailing lists.
Regards,
