if I understand correctly, this message keeps popping up, with every start of OOo?!
No, with every boot. And at boot time, OOo automatically starts the quickstarter. And then I get the error message.
OOo checks for a running instance by looking for a .lock file in the user preferences (~/.openoffice.org2/user/) directory. You may want to look if such a file exists and why it can not be replaced.
I found it at: C:\Documents and Settings\ernstdh\Application Data\OpenOffice.org2 Indeed there is a .lock file there. Note that this file is not shared, it's a local file on my machine. Perhaps OOo starts up twice during boot. Anyway, I'll see if I can find anything out when I reboot. Thanks for the help!
