I don't think this is possible. "tools > options > paths" only shows a
path for "my documents" and one for "backups"...

I would suggest that this is due to the fact (despite MS office's
claims) that OOo is more of an integrated office suite. The OOo
modules act as one. This however is something that obviously doesn't
work in this case.

Hello,

We are looking at implementing the use of OpenOffice.Org version 2.03.
Each of our network users makes use of a HOME directory folder set on a
network file server. Each HOME directory folder set will typically
contain multiple sub-folders for various kinds of documents; 1 for word
processing, 1 for spreadsheets, etc.

Within OpenOffice.Org, is there a way to set a different folder set as
the default path for the different type of documents? For example, in
MS Office, Word may point to f:\home\rhood\word and Excel may point to
f:\home\rhood\excel. F: is the root of the mapped drive; \HOME is the
top level folder for users accounts; rhood is the user account RHOOD
home folder set. Or is OpenOffice.Org limited such that the path would
have to be set to f:\home\rhood?

If a separate default path for documents pertinent to each major module
of OpenOffice.Org is not currently possible, is that something being
worked on for a forthcoming update?

Any clarification you may be able to provide would be appreciated.

Thanks,
