I've bee a new user or openoffice and have been experimenting with the
software for the past 3 months. Initial response is WOW!, but with
constant day-to-day operations i'm facing some peculiar situations:
1. I'm working with a calc document which is around 2.5 MB in size
having 16,000 rows and 12 columns. When i change the data of a
particular cell and try to save the file it takes close to 3 minutes. I
do not have any linked document nor do i have any special characters in
the cells. These are plane text cells.
2. I'm working of centrino processor 1.7 GHz and 512 MB RAM with page
file size of 750 MB, but the moment i start up the open office my memory
consumption of both Physical as well as virtual shoots up from 40% to
close to 80% utilization. Is there any means of optimizing the usage of
open office?
