Because that would mean it will get really bloated. mono calendar is based on mono which means it needs the MONO framework, OOo uses UNO, this means we need to bundle 2 different and disconnected framework. This will make it a bit like a kludge.
I do think however that maybe there could be a port from mono back to uno and reimplement it under UNO. To be able to do that we need to code the necesary interfaces using the native UNO api. Since there are OOo bridges to C# this might ease a bit but still would need to be a lot of work in the process.
