One has to wonder if any of the people who talk about the woes of
finding controls in menus have experiences the joys of using the Alt +
XYZ method of navigating menus, this is just as easy as learning a set
of commands surely? Whenever I want to work fast I hardly ever use the
mouse, it's a cumbersome RSI inducing tool, but I hate the CLI system,
c'mon it only has one potential context, nothing is evident or
explanable and you're stuck into a rigid and prescribed pathway of
entering information.

The argument that is existing here is between power users. A GUI is
the only route for those unwilling to learn, however for those willing
to learn, there is a certain snobbery and arrogance in saying that the
only right way of performing as a power user is the old way, the CLI
way when there are perfectly good ways of learning to be productive
with a GUI, they are just as discoverable as scouring through
endlessly inter referencing man pages and learning lists of commands
and then making the same spelling mistakes again again and again, if
not more since they are visually represented (yes the underlined
letters on the task bar, and office2007 has another way as well...)

also, Jonathon perhaps this is an 'intentional mistake' but...

Try this
* Throw away your mouse;
* Throw away your keyboard;
* Throw away your monitor;

Use _any_ program that has a GU.
Now explain the "easilly discoverable" part of a GUI.

please, read that again, anything strike you as perhaps, odd?
Unless you're a troll in which case that's just -classic- a piece of
trolldom that should be raised up on a pedestal for others to look
upon for subtle trolling guidance.

CLI is a step backwards, teaching people to be efficient and
observant, respect the accessibility of information and to give up on
their precious mice, now that's a step forward!

PS: And no i'm not a mac user :P

PPS: although when it comes to system recovery, there's nothing quite
like bash to be able to fall back on :D
