Remember that characters have properties.

If you have installed the en, it, and de dictionaries, you 
can spell check all three in the same document, if you 
wish. 

Highlight the section in Italian, for example, then:
Right click >Character >Language
and so on with the other language sections. 

If the whole doc is set to EN, then DE and IT show as 
incorrect. If each section is set to it's proper 
language, and the dictionaries are installed, then all 
three could be checked at the same time.

PS: What I would really like to see is a default button 
that would allow switching on the fly, more intuitively.
