There is nothing that prevents you from doing so. I thought it might be a good idea to store a copy of the current document in memory to the VCS via WebDAV. You still can have your local copy as a normal document. Of course we would need a function that directly reads a document from a WebDAV folder. Both (reading from and writing to) the folder could be added as "check in" and "check out" functions to the file menu.
