I had the same bad experience a couple of times and at least in my
experience this was down to the poor organization of the person who prepared the presentation in the first place.

I thought this might be the case here but....

The only thing I could do was to select the frame, then format default
formatting; select all the text and click the bullets and numbering icon to
apply numbering.

Thanks for your reply.

Here is what I have found so far.

The numbering appears on slide 2. Slide 1 has only a title and 2 pictures.

Slide 2 has a heading that has no bullets or numbering and then the lines of text.

The numbering is just a numbered list using a standard 1., 2., 3., format.

The problem is occurring on the blank lines in-between the text. The first line of text ends with a cr/lf. Then there is a blank line with only a cr/fl and then the next line of text ending in a cr/fl, etc.

When bullets and numbering is turned on, a number is assigned to the blank line. Turning off bullets and numbering for this line stops the number from being displayed but it doesn't change the number count. The blank line is still counted as number 2. Under PP the blank line is not counted as a line of text and the number 2 is assigned to the second actual line of text.

I solved the problem by going to format, paragraph, ident & spacing and then using double line spacing which gives me the spacing I want but without using an actual blank line in-between.

Thanks again, for your help.
