On Ubuntu-7.04, I see the following: 
odt, sxw, Word-95/97/2k/XP, Lotus WordPro, 
StarOffice_3-5 (sdw), rtf, AportisDoc, DocBook, 
Word2003 XML, Works, PocketWord, 
StarWriter-1,2,DOS, Ichitaro, Hangul, 
WPS-2000/Office and a whole raft of others. 

I doubt there are fewer filters. Seems more 
trouble to take them out than leave them.
