The biggest problem I have found with the Thunderbird/OOo integration is that they can not interactively use the same phone book. OOo can interactively work with the Windows address book but not the Thunderbird address book.

On the Windows version of OpenOffice.org 2.3, Thunderbird is specifically listed as an option on the Address Data Source wizard. I'm just running the wizard now to see if OpenOffice.org can update Thunderbird's address book, or just makes a copy of it.

I could access the existing addresses OK. I couldn't find a way to add a new address from OpenOffice.org. When I added a new address in Thunderbird, it appeared in OpenOffice.org as well. It doesn't look like OpenOffice.org does keep a separate address book though (unless you manually set up a different one), but you have to update the address book from Thunderbird.

The situation is different when looking at PCLinuxOS's OpenOffice.org 2.3. Thunderbird is not listed on the Address Data Source wizard. I'm amazed! Is that true of other Linux versions as well, and is there a way to access the Thunderbird address book somehow. I'm sure there used to be!
